What are some limitations of EPS?

EPS alone can be dubious for making a trading or investment move. Companies can easily manipulate it by buying loads of shares to decrease the outstanding shares in the market, thus artificially pumping up the EPS showing better profitability with lower profit figures. A company tweaking some of its accounting practices can also manipulate EPS figures. Also, EPS never takes into account the market price of the stock.
