Which is Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY)?

The SSY Scheme was launched by the Central Government in 2015 to help parents save for the needs of a girl child. The scheme is backed by the GOI, with current interest rates of 7.6 % p.a. The scheme tenure is 21 years or till the girl marries after 18 years of age. The scheme also offers tax benefits u/s 80C. Parents or legal guardians can avail of this scheme for a maximum of 2 girl children.
