What is the use case of resistance levels?

Resistance levels are mostly used by traders and analysts to make trading-related decisions, about where to buy and where to sell. For instance, when an asset price is near the resistance level, a trader will make a short for he expects the price to fall. On the other hand, when the price breaks through the resistance level, a trader will build a long position, expecting the price to move higher.
